Treva G. Strouse, age 86, of Arlington died at 1:45 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Center in Arlington. She was born on July 12, 1918 to John George "Stub" and Alma Melvena (Nesler) Bame. Treva married Carlton W. Strouse on April 14, 1940 and he died February 17, 2004. Daughter, Connie Sue Strouse survives in Elida. Mrs. Strouse graduated from Arlington High School and went on to receive degrees from the Bliss Business College in Columbus and the Ohio School of Banking at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. She retired in 1983 from the Mid-American Bank, formerly Farmers & Merchants Bank, in Arlington following 31 years of service. Treva had also worked for: Triplett Electrical Instrument Company, Bluffton in the payroll department; and Ranco, Inc., Columbus during WWII. She was a life-time member of Good Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mrs. Strouse served as treasurer of the Arlington Good Samaritan Board at the time of its inception and construction. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 27, 2004 at CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington with Reverend Steven Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery, Madison Twp.
