Melba Juanita Payne Cobb was born to Edwin Spurgeon Payne and Lois Inez Willis Payne in Montgomery County, Texas. In 1935 and 1940 U.S. Census the family lived in Conroe, Montgomery County, Texas at 231 McCall, Glenwood Park Addition.

About 1951, Melba Juanita married Wallace Cobb. In 1958, Juanita and her husband Wallace "Wally" Cobb lived at 311 N. McKinley in Hobbs, New Mexico where Wallace was the First Baptist Church Minister of Music.

From about 1959 until her passing, Juanita resided at 12714 Galawood Drive in Houston, Texas.

Juanita P. passed away August 9, 2010, in Houston, TX. She was survived by her husband of 59 years, Rev. Wallace B. Cobb, daughter and son-in-law Peggy Lois and Don Littlejohn; sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd Wallace and Crystal Cobb, Edwin Wraymond and Debbie Cobb; grandchildren, Katie Atkins and her husband Jacob, Spencer Littlejohn, Jenny Cobb and Carson Cobb. Visitation was held 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Klein Funeral Home Champion Forest. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August, 12, 2010 at Christ Church Baptist Fellowship, 12501 Champion Forest Drive. Interment was at Klein Memorial Park on FM 2920.
