J.C. Bishop, age 90, of Fayetteville, TN, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Donalson Care Center. He was born in Jackson County, AL, on November 20, 1922 to Jones Henry & Evie Precise Bishop. He graduated from Hazel Green High School in 1942. He then joined the Marine Corp in 1942 and served in the Pacific Islands through World War II. He worked for NASA in Huntsville, AL for over 50 years. Along with his parents, Mr. Bishop is preceded in death by his wife, Odell Phillips Bishop, two sisters, Neta Grooms and Freida Stewart, four brothers, Jones Howard, Roy, Aubrey & Fred Bishop. He is survived by daughters, Becky & Joe Bankston of Jackson, TN, Linda & James Bridges of Horton, AL, sons, Ricky Bishop of Fayetteville, TN, Mike Bishop of Athens, AL, sister, Sybil & Lee Hinman of Huntsville, AL, brothers, Charles & Rachael Bishop of Benita Springs, FL, Billy & Aretta Bishop of Huntland, TN, eight grandchildren, Margaret, Corey, Caroline, Tony, Ryan, Amanda, Dwain & Carmen, ten great grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with James Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in State Line Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
