YW (Sam) Chan had a long and storied career as a Chinese Diplomat. His first wife, Isabel Liao Chan was the mother of his daughters. Isabel died in 1939, and is buried in Hong Kong. His second wife was Bessie Jeong, who is notable for her accomplishment of becoming one of the first Chinese women physicians in the US. Ying Wing had six daughters, one of whom married General Claire Chennault, of the Flying Tigers.
