MEYERSDALE, Apr. 6.—William H. Habel, 92, Meyersdale's oldest citizen, died Sunday at the home of a son, Harry, in Larimer township. Born in Germany December 17, 1855, he was active as an officer of the Second National Bank and was a past master of the Masonic Lodge. He was an active member of the Amity Reformed Church and conducted an adult Sunday school class for years. Preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Emma Troutman Habel, in November, 1947, he leaves two sons, Harry and John of Cumberland, and one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Rowe, of Meyersdale. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Rowe home here, in charge of Rev. Nelson Brown. Burial will be made in Union Cemetery. The Daily Courier, Connellsville, April 6, 1948
