January 1941 - Passage. The obituary, published in the Idaho Falls, Idaho newspaper, The Post-Register, Wednesday, January 29, 1941, Page 12 reads, "FARNUM, January 29. Funeral services for Mrs. Dempsey Matilda Smith Baird, 68, will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Farnum chapel with Bishop Lester Hendrickson officiating. Burial will be in the Pineview cemetery at Ashton under the direction of the W. M. Hansen and son mortuary of St. Anthony.

"Mrs. Baird was born April 11, 1872 at Heber Park, Utah, daughter of Thomas C. and Sarah Frampton Smith. She died Monday at 6:25 p.m. at her home in Farnum.

"On December 29, 1896, she was married to W. G. Baird of Heber City. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City L. D. S. temple in 1912. In 1900 they moved to Idaho, locating at Teton. In 1907 they moved to Farnum, where they have since resided.

"Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons and two daughters, Glen W. Baird and Thomas Blaine Baird of Drummond, Robert Dean Baird of St. Anthony, Mrs. Annie Pearl Whittemore of Ashton and Mrs. Reva Hillman of Boise; seven grandchildren, one brother and one sister, J. R. Smith of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Eliza Van Waggoner of Los Angeles."
