Donald C. Fissel, of Mechanicsburg, entered into eternal rest December 22 in Camp Hill.

He was a son of the late Samuel C. and Ella May Shindledecker Fissel.

Mr. Fissel was a graduate of Gettysburg High School Class of 1939. He was retired from Nationwide Insurance Companies, Columbus, Ohio and Commercial Union Insurance Companies, Camp Hill. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Mechanicsburg, where he was active in many committees and activities of the church.

He was a life member of VFW #15, BPO Elks Lodge #1045, a member of American Legion #202 and Good Samaritan Lodge F & AM 0336 all of Gettysburg, life member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon Forest #43, Harrisburg, member of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Harrisburg, Zembo Shrine, Harrisburg. He volunteered at New Hope Ministries and was a mentor at Filbert Street School, Mechanicsburg.

Surviving are his wife, Thelma B. Fissel; three daughters, Donna Kefford and Susan Fissel, both of Camp Hill, and Jennifer Kruse of Bloomington, IL; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

His brothers, C. Maxwell and Gaylard, preceded him in death.
