Spooner – John L. Wulff, 86, of Spooner and formerly of 528 Union St., Eau Claire, died Saturday, March 2, 1996, at the Burnett Commuity Center in Grantsburg.
He was born June 12, 1909, in the town of Dover, to Sever and Katherine (Kindschi) Wulff.
John was united in marriage to Arlene Johnson. He served with the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II and was honorably discharged March 11, 1946.
He retired from farming near Ridgeland in 1963 due to the loss of his eye sight. He operated a coffee shop in the state office building until retiring in 1981.
John was a member of Lake Street United Methodist Church, the Disabled American Veterans, and VFW Post No. 7232. He was a former member of American Legion Post No. 53.
Survivors include a son, William (Mary) of Park Forest, Ill.; two daughters, Vicki (Randy) Larson of Spooner and Marilyn Wulff of Chicago; three grandsons, Isaac Larson. Stephen Wulff and Eric Wulff; three granddaughters, Ananda and Ingrid Larson and Gina Wulff; two sisters, Dorothy Berg of Mondovi and Virginia (Ingvald) Melgaard of Ridgeland; many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene in 1971; his parents; two brothers, Norman and Kermit; two sisters, Martha Ronnei and Marie Wulff.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home with Pastor Kent P. Ingram of Lake Street United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post No. 305.
Friends may call an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.
