Earl W. Tanner, 85, of 26994 Perch Lake Road,Watertown, died Friday at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.

He was born in North Fair Haven. He owned and operated a farm and later founded E.T. Tanners Trucking for Wicks Lumber, Phoenix, retiring in 1986.

His first wife, Mary, died previously; his second wife, Ethel, died in 1988.

Survivors: His companion, Vesta Ryan of Watertown; two daughters, Susan Tanner of Florida and Agnes Fonda of Fulton; a son, Earl Jr. of Fulton; a stepdaughter, Beverly Foster of Clay; four brothers, Frederick of Syracuse, Charles of Skaneateles and Robert and William, both of Auburn; three grandchildren.

Services: Were Tuesday at TLC Funeral Home, Watertown. Burial, Maple Lawn Cemetery, Dugway
