Eugene Fields Beeler, 85 , of Lynchburg Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2012 at Loveland Health Care in Loveland, Ohio.

Gene was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 16, 1927 to Azel Dale and Mary Fern Fields Beeler. He was the youngest of three boys, his older brothers William Henry and James Albert Beeler preceded him in death.

He was married over 60 years to his beloved Lois Irene Tidd Beeler and had three children: Albert Lee Beeler (Sueann), Dale Eugene Beeler (Elaine) and Pamela Jean Beeler Renzi (Louis) and grandchildren: Brian Beeler (Jaime), Lisa Beeler Rinker (Aaron), Jennifer Renzi, Andrea Renzi, Sara Beeler, Christopher Beeler, two great-grandsons: Ethan and Carson Beeler, and nephew William Henry Beeler and niece Sarah Beeler Hudson. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2008 and by one grandchild, Blair Koucky in 1998.

Gene was a graduate of Purdue University School of Engineering, and worked for General Electric Aviation for over 30 years. His work on the Vertical Take- Off Aircraft Lift Fan project took him and his family to Edwards Air force Base and San Diego numerous times.

They were very exciting times for all of us. He and Lois retired to their farm in Lynchburg, Ohio where he was able to fulfill a life-long dream of gardening and farming. His many hobbies included motorcycle riding, Model T driving, Formula Ford car racing, traveling to bluegrass festivals and American history. He loved all things mechanical and could build and fix anything.

Friends will be received from 5-7 PM on Wednesday December 5, 2012 at the Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St Rte. 28, Goshen Ohio, and funeral service at Haverly's Mortuary, Mitchell, Indiana at 1 PM on Thursday December 6, 2012 where friends will be received from 12 PM until time of service.
