She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 70 years Eugene Rice, son Eugene Rice, Jr. and daughter Jacquelin Rice Fondy. Edith is survived her son-in-law Phil Fondy, four grandchildren Debbie (and Gordon) Ashley, Tim (and Penny) Fondy, Karen (and Terry) Rohrbach, Mike (and Ronnie) Fondy, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, three extra special nephews Larry (and Elaine) Pratt, Harry Pratt, Jerry Pratt and many nieces and nephews. Edith was the wit and humor of the family and will be dearly missed by all family and friends. Edith lived her entire life in Middletown. Edith was a member of the Middletown Community of Christ where she served through the years as music director, Sunday school teacher, choir member and church auditor. She and her late husband owned Star Dry Cleaners in Middletown and later in Miamisburg for many years, and she also was the bookkeeper and accountant for the business.
Funeral services at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, 517 South Sutphin Street, Middletown, OH 45044. The service will be presided by Elder Bill Helsinger and Father Ed Pratt. Visitation until time of service. Burial will be at the Woodside Cemetery.
