Arlene Doris Baggaley of Newtown Square, PA, died February 8, 2018, at the age of 92. Wife of the late Dr. Andrew R. Baggaley, and survived by children Philip A. Baggaley and his wife Peggy, and Paula B. Caruana and her husband Mark, and by grandchildren Christine Caruana, Katharine Baggaley, and Peter Baggaley. Born in Madison, WI, to Leo Aberle and Christine Christenson Aberle, she attended the University of Wisconsin, and later received a Bachelor’s degree from Temple University and a Master’s degree in Child Psychology from Bryn Mawr College. She was a child counselor in the Lower Merion School District, and then at The School of the Holy Child in Rosemont, and a member of Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church. A gifted writer with an interest in English and American literature, she wrote poems, stories and columns for publications such as the The Main Line Times and was editor of “Inside Dunwoody,” the internal newsletter of Dunwoody Village, her retirement community.

A memorial service is planned for March 19, 2018, at 10:30 AM at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church Music and Fine Arts Department.

Mr. and Mrs. Leo J. Aberle, 810 Emerald St., announce the engagement of their daughter, Arlene Doris, to Andrew R. Baggaley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Baggaley of Shaker Heights, Cleveland, O.
Miss Aberle attended the University of Wisconsin and is now employed as secretary of the Wisconsin School of the Air at radio station WHA.
Mr. Baggaley received his B.A. and M.A. degrees in education from Harvard university. He plans to enter the University of Chicago to begin work on his Ph.D. degree in psychology.
A fall wedding is planned.
