Mr Lawrence Rexton Barrow, 87, of Pensacola, Fl died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL.
Mr. Barrow was born August 29, 1925 in Crenshaw County, Alabama and had been a resident of Pensacola since 1953. He was an 8th Armored Division veteran of !!II and survivor of the Battle of the Bulge; he retired from Monsanta Nylon Corporation in 1981 and co-founder Barrow's Income Tax and Bookkeeping Service. He was former President of Farm Hill Utilities and was a member of The Gideon's International - West Camp. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge - Post 278, the Santa Rosa Creek Indian Tribe, the Barrow Family Association of America and First Baptist Church of Pensacola. He served as a volunteer for numerous organizations and wa a dedicated patriarch to his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Edna Faye Holland Barrow; his parents, Stella Dovie Nichols Barrow and Lawrence Jefferson Barrow; a brother, Bertis Buck Barrow; a sister, Leona Bozeman; a daughter, Martha Russell and a step-son, Philip Nobles.
Survivors include his loving wife of nine years, Corinne Barrow; two daughters, Loraine Jenks (Bryant) of Vandaman, MS and Larelda Barton (James) of Cantonment, FL; one son, Dr. Larry Barrow (Melva) of Pensacola Beach, FL; two step-daughters, Joanne Salter (Bobby) of Gulf Breeze, Fl and Karen Bowers (Paul) of Atlanta, GA and step-son, Thaddeus Nobles (Donna) of Pensacola, FL; seven grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Radford of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Veria Wheeler of Contonment, FL and Annie Leverette of Pensacola, FL; a brother, Thomas Jefferson (T J) Barrow of Selma, AL and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Lawrence Barrow, Kevin Jenks, Brad Barton, Chip Russell, Addison Salter and Christopher Reisen. Honorary pallbearers are Lamar Wheeler, Sonny Hicks, David Parker, Pete Foster and Wilson Robertson.
The family will receive friends from 6: 00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. December 4, 2012, Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00, Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Pensacola with Reverend Barry Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Eastern Gate Cemetery.
