Mrs. Crandall formerly worked as the church secretary for the Angola United Methodist Church, and formerly was the owner of the Crandall's Market in Fremont. She graduated from Fremont High School in 1948, and attended Indiana University.
She was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church, and has been the church organist and pianist for many years. Her hobbies included music, reading and following Indiana University athletics. She was a very active volunteer for many organizations, clubs, and civic groups during her lifetime.
Survivors are one son, Gregory Crandall of Fremont; four daughters, Linda and John Banks of Tupelo, Miss., Sharon and Dennis Sherfield of Fort Wayne, Vicki Collins of Angola, and Nancy and Gary Montgomery of Columbus, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Danielle Counts, Amanda Bryant, Amber Klug, Jason Banks, Bradley Collins, Nicholas Collins, Spencer Montgomery and Hayley Montgomery; and two great-grandchildren, Khloe Collins and Julian Klug.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister, Joan Stafford.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Fremont United Methodist Church, Fremont, with the Rev. Darin Hendrey officiating. Burial will be in Fremont Cemetery, Fremont.
