Herdes would bake cookies and mail them to me in Louisiana when I was a young child back in the 1950s. Mail took a little longer back then and they would be pretty stale by the time they arrived. I didn't care. It so touched my heart that he would send them that I ate every one of them.
Thompson, Herdes R., 56, of 2025 6th Avenue, passed away April 30th. Surviving are 2 sisters, Mrs. Merle Wetherholt, of Joliet, IL, Mrs Rachel Russell, a brother, Francis of Phoenix, Arizona. Preceded in death by a sister Mrs. Lucile Cutler. Services were conducted by Rev. George Clark of the Mountain View Church of Christ Tucson Mortuary Chapel with interment at Tucson Memorial Park, South Lawn.
