Elena was survived by children: Alberto, Bernardita "Bernie" Gomez, Sofie Naranjo, and Lucy Woods of Albuquerque, Odilia Romero of Alcalde, Ursulita Naranjo of Santa Clara Pueblo, Sister Mary Louise of the Carmelite Monastery in Santa Fe, Julian of Fairview, and Santiago "Jimmy" of Alcalde, Merce of Española, and Gilbert of White Rock; sisters: Mercedes Martinez of Los Luceros and Inez Lucero of Ogden, Utah; brother Cipriano Ortiz of Alcalde; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Rosary was recited on 7 Aug 1987 at B;ock-Salazar Mortuary in Española. Funeral services were 8 Aug 1987 at St. John the Baptist Church in San Juan Pueblo. Burial was in the Alcalde Catholic Cemetery.
