( Obituary. 28 June 1941. William W. Eagar. Eagar, Arizona.- William Walter Eagar, 89, pioneer of Eagar, Arizona, died at his home yesterday at 2:30 a.m.
He was born October 21, 1851, in Manti, Utah, son of John and Sarah Johnson Eagar. He has been married twice both of his wives having preceded hi in death. His first wife, formerly Mary Riches of Nephi, Utah, died in 1899, and his second wife, Etta Jensen of Eagar, Ariz. died in 1923.
He is the father of 18 children, all of whom survive him: William B., and George A. Eagar, Mrs. Janet Slade, Orson P. and Arthur Eagar, Mrs. Lucy Biglow, Clem, Lin and Robbie Eager, all of Eagar, Ariz.; John E. Eagar of St. John, Ariz.; Mrs. Mary E. Brown of Ft. Thomas, Ariz.; James H. Eagar of Monticello, Utah; Mrs. Josephine E. Bowen of 378 G. Street, Salt Lake; David R. and Carl Eagar of Mammoth, Mrs. Lottie Renolds of Luna, New Mexico, and Oscar and Lula Eagar of Taft, Calif. Two brothers also survive him: Joel Eagar of Woodruff, Ariz; and John Eagar of Taylor. Aiz.
Mr. Eagar's early manhood was spent in Utah, and for a time he lived in Mammoth. After he was married he was called by the president of the Church to pioneer in Arizona territory and with his two brothers settled in Eagar, which was named after them.
He was a member of the Church and was married in the Temple.
Services were conducted today at p.m. in Eagar.
Interment will be in the family plot of the Eagar Cemetery, where both his wives are buried.
