Daughter of The Roy Paynes Dies Saturday

Mrs. Patricia Payne Houston of Route 1, Swan Lake Road, in Bossier City died
Saturday, August 21, 1976 in Willis Knighton Hospital after a brief illness.

A lifelong resident of Bossier City, Mrs. Houston, 43, was the first person
chosen as Miss Bossier City in 1951 and was a second runner-up in the first
Miss Holiday in Dixie contest. She was a 1951 graduate of Bossier High
School.

Mrs. Houston was secretary to the senior vice president of Bossier Bank &
Trust Co. the past four years. She was a member of Bossier City Chapter 175
of the Eastern Star and First Methodist Church of Shreveport.

Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Rose-Neath Funeral Home in
Bossier City with Dr. D. L. Dykes and the Rev. H. D. Smith, pastor of
Lakeshore Baptist Church.

Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Gene Houston, Jr., one son, David Lee Houston,
of Bossier City, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Roy Payne of Winnfield, and
one brother, William Ronald Payne of Shreveport
