He is survived by Jean (Quarnheim) his wife of 43 years; daughter Elizabeth (Tindall); sons Gregory and Kenneth; his sister Chloa Renee (Harris) and five grandchildren: Spencer Tindall; Landen, Tyler, Nathan and Katie Blackburn.
Gene graduated from Humboldt State Univ., where he also earned his Masters Degree in Education. Gene loved children, and retired from Campbell Union School District where he taught at San Thomas Elementary School for over 27 years. He also taught wood/metal shop at Rolling Hills Junior High School.
Gene was a WW II veteran and served as a surgical assistant. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and attended the Dry Creek Ward where he enjoyed serving in many capacities. He enjoyed working in his garden and his yard. He was an excellent craftsman and loved to work with wood. He was extremely talented in music, played several instruments, and was a drummer in a jazz band.
