The funeral service will be at St. Augustine Catholic Church at 10:30 AM Wednesday, July 6, 2011, with Fr. Kenneth Obeikwe officiating. Interment will be at St. Augustine Mausoleum in Melrose, LA. Mr. Wilson was born to Clarence and Josephine Metoyer in Isle Brevelle, LA on March 22, 1929. He moved to Chicago at a young age and remained there until his retirement from American Flange & Manufacturing Company. In his 46 years at American Flange he worked his way up the ranks and retired as a Shift Foreman. This was a great accomplishment and he was very proud of this position and himself because he lacked formal education. After retirement he moved to Kentucky the home of his wife Virginia. Upon her death he relocated to the home of his birth, his beloved Cane River. He loved sitting on his porch, waving to the passing cars and gazing at the river reminiscing about old times. He had a loving nature and was known to many as "Uncle Boo".
