The Desert news has a correspondence from Colonia Juarez, Mexico, under date of Dec 17, in which occurs the following:
Sister Laura McClellan-Whipple came to Colonia Juarez on a visit to her father and mother and enjoy with them the holidays. She was taken sick on the way and suffered from liver complaint. She had not been long at her home before it developed into jaundice with raging fever, and notwithstanding all that be done, she died at Colonia Jaurez at midnight, December 12, 1895.
Sister Laura Catherine Whipple was born June 9, 1875, at Payson, Utah County, Utah. She was the beloved daughter of William C. and Elsie Jane Richardson McClellan, and a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Her funeral obsequies were held in the Juarez ward school house on the afternoon of Friday, December 13th, a large number of relatives and friends being present.
