James Wheat, 85, of 106 Taylor Avenue in Campbellsville, died Saturday, August 31 at Metzmeier Nursing Home after an illness. Born March 29, 1900 in Adair County to John and Omanda White Wheat, he married Lora Ann Keith Wheat May 30, 1920. She survives along with four sons, Taylor Wheat of Campbellsville, Albert Wheat of Louisville, Elbert of Arizona, and Elfort of Illinois; three daughters, Rita Faye Sexton fo Campbellsville, Gwin Wheeler of Texas, and Delcie Janes of Illinois; one sister, Litha Green of Columbia; 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral was Tuesday, September 3 at the Lyon Funeral Home in Campbellsville with burial in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Doug Mosley and Don Whitley officiated.
