She lived most of her life in and around Ithaca, Tompkins County, New York, except for a period around 1904, when she resided in Baltimore, Maryland. She boarded at several addresses in Ithaca and was employed as an overseer at Ithaca's Stanford Sign Works about 1890-1891. 1920 found her employed as a private nurse; and in 1930 she was employed as a chamber maid in a Cornell University dormitory.
