Mr. Frans was born February 6, 1893, in Union, Neb. He was a school teacher prior to enlistment in the army during the first world war, reaching the rank of 2d lieutenant.
After the war he became bookkeeper for the National Lumber company, Hoquiam, and from there went into the wood business for himself in Cottage Grove. There he married Mrs. Verva Damewood in 1930. She died in 1933.
He married Mrs. Mildred Hart in 1934. She and their daughters, Joy and Jean, survive.
Mr. Frans was a member of Plattsmouth lodge, No. 6, AF&AM, in Nebraska, and the Westminster Presbyterian church.
Interment will be in Riverview cemetery.
