Mary "Lodema" Wright, 86, died June 16, 2010, at the Wesley Towers Hester Care Center, Hutchinson. She was born Sept. 18, 1923, in Minneola, the daughter of Orley and Minnie McKinster Creech. She was a graduate of Minneola High School. A resident of Hutchinson since 1942, she was a department manager for Hutchinson Clinic from 1961-1992.
She was a member of the Business Professional Woman, American Legion, OEO, RSVP and a bridge club. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.
On July 23, 1943, she married Leo J. Wright in Tempe, Ariz. He died Nov. 30, 1985. Survivors include: a son, Randy Wright (Joni), Oklahoma City, Okla.; two daughters, Janice Winchester, Hutchinson and Teri Hubbard (Jim), Wichita; a special nephew, Jerry Creech (Marylou), Lakewood, Colo.; a sister, Madlyn Hildebrant, Hutchinson; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Karen Joy Wright, and four brothers, Olin, Russell, Harold, and Maurice Creech.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Pat Ault-Duell presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. that evening, all at the funeral home. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
