Services for Barney "Hugh" Lowery, age 66, of Cadwell, will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Rentz. Rev.
Mr. Lowery was born in Dexter, GA. He was a member of the Georgia National Guard and the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where he served as an active Deacon and as Sunday School Director. Mr. Lowery was a self-employed businessman and a member of the Laurens County School Board for 12 years. He loved his church and family. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie L. Lowery. Mr. Lowery passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2012.
The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, 1697 Highway 126, Cadwell, GA 31009. Townsend Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
