NANCY, daughter of ANTHONTY and MARGARET (MESSERSMITH) ROSENBERGER, was a granddaughter of German emigrant ERASMUS ROSENBERGER who bought land in Shenandoah Valley. Married James Nathaniel Burwell, who died 27 Sept 1847 at age of 33, leaving her with 7 children to raise, and an estate with slaves to manage. Her oldest daughter, Margaret wed Methodist preacher, THADDEUS JUSTUS STAUBER in 1854. 1864, he moved Nancy and her family to Missouri. After the Civil War, Nancy sold her home in VA and 13 March 1868 bought land, in Yellow Creek Twp, Linn Co, near St Catharine, where she lived the rest of her life.
