Allene M. Schmidt, 89 years, of Toledo, OH passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The daughter of Ernest and Lettie (Finch) Grosteffon she was born October 22, 1923, in Trilby, OH. Allene was a 1941 graduate of Lambertville High School and attended Stautzenberger Business College. On January 27, 1951 she married Howard "Huck" Schmidt who preceded her in death in 1975. Allene worked at Jeep and Dr. Wesley Billings D.O. in Toledo for 3 years and American Propelar Plant for 5 years. She worked as a clerk for the Secretary of State Office in Temperance, MI retiring after 23 years. Allene loved being around her family, especially all the young kids. She also loved gardening. Allene was a member of Bedford Senior Citizens and Eva Rebecca Lodge #229 in Lambertville, MI.
Along with her husband; she is preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Dawson, Samuel and James Grosteffon; 2 sisters, Marjorie Halliwill and Marcella E. Grosteffon.
She is survived by her loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. in The Urbanski's Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Avenue Temperance, MI where the Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
