GRUVER - Darrell Wright, 77, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Curry and Randy Messer officiating. Burial will be in Gruver Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Mr. Wright was born Sept. 9, 1927, in Levelland. He married Sara Sloan on May 17, 1952, in Spearman. He was a field operator for Phillips Petroleum for 35 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Gruver. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jayne Wilson and Jean Barnes, both of Amarillo; a son, Nathan Wright of Eldorado, Kan.; a brother, Elvin Wright of Gruver; two sisters, Nelda Wright and Ima Lee Smith, both of Levelland; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Amarillo Nursing Center, 4033 S.W. 51st. Ave., Amarillo, TX 79110; BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176; or Harrington Cancer Center, P.O. Box 51628, Amarillo, TX 79159.
