Thomas Clark
Thomas Clark, Union veteran of the Civil War, passed away Monday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at his home, 808 Hickory Street, after a short illness. At the time of his death he was more than 90 years old.
Funeral services were held at the Brethren Church, of which he was a member, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. D.C. Gnagy in charge. Burial was in the G.A.R. lot at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Fred McNutt, W.E. Thomson, Henry Gherkin, Henry Bruchs,
Fred Van Bebber and W.E. Stratton.
During the Civil War, Mr. Clark served with the Cavalry in South Missouri and Arkansas. He was in the Union Army about three years.
Thomas Clark, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Clark, was born in Tennessee on April 1, 1844. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Viola Yokum of Kingston, Mo., who arrived Monday; and Mrs. Henrietta Smith of Jefferson City. He is also survived by one brother, George.
Mr. Clark has been in good health until he became sick August 9th. He has resided in Warrensburg for more than twenty years. Before moving here he lived on a farm near Cornelia.
In addition to his daughter, Mrs. Yokum, being here, a nephew, Arthur Clark of Sweet Springs, also came.
