Oscar Eugene "Gene" Rogers, 86, of New Castle, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, Nov. 26,2012,at the Heritage House in New Castle. He was born May, 5,1926, in Linton to the late Charles and Madge Hazel (Helms) Rogers.

A veteran of the United States Army, he served during World War II. He retired from Chrysler Corp. in 1986 after several years of service. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in New Castle. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Leona Rogers of New Castle;two daughters, Joyce (husband Tim) Staton of New Castle and Teresa (husband Talmadge) Stephens of New Castle; sister, Charlotte Buckner of NC;three grandchildren, Layna Staton, Amy Marrow and Jerod Stephens;four great-grandchildren, Landree Morrow, Macy Staton, Landen Morrow and Hannah Stephens;several nieces and nephews;brothers and sisters-in-law, Jackie Mason, Sharon Marsh, Linda Stowers and Anna Van Buskirk, Melvin Hall and Leroy Hall.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Guy Helms; sister, Sarah June Armpriester;mother and father-in-law, Glen and Fila Hall;brothers-in-law, Billy, Ronnie, Donnie, Bob, Glenettie and Norman Richard Hall.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wed.,Nov. 28,2012, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Services in New Castle with Pastor Steve Gallaway officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens.

Gene will have full Military rites.
