"Mazie E. Ness, 96, of York, died at 2:30 p.m. Monday at York United Methodist Home. She was the wife of Stewart N. Ness, who died in 1982.
The service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Workinger-Semmel Funeral Home Inc., 849 E. Market St., York. Burial will be in Dallastown Union Cemetery. Viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ness was born Jan. 28, 1901, in Potosi, York County. She was the daughter of the late Clinton F. and Ellen (Brenneman) Dellinger.
She was a member of Fourth United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Women's Christian Temperance Union.
Mrs. Ness is survived by a son, Robert E. Ness of Emigsville; two daughters, Wanda M. Crane of Northfield, N.J., and Jean R. Hershey of Dover; five grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. Mrs. Ness was preceded in death by a stepson, Stewart C. Ness.
Officiating at the service will be her pastor, the Rev. Ronald S. French, and the Rev. Melvin Geiman Jr., pastor emeritus.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fourth United Methodist Church, 20 N. Lehman St., York 17403."
