Ms. Sparks, 96, Stockton, died Sunday at Citizens Memorial Hospital, Bolivar. She was the only child of Fred and Elsie (Broyles) O'Neal, and was born and raised on the family farm at Sac River. She was a long-time Stockton resident and member of Stockton Assembly of God Church. She was saved during a revival at Needmore undenominational church by the Rev. Ralph Gothard in 1949. She married Floyd D.Sparks March 3, 1935, and two children were born of the union. She enjoyed a variety of work opportunities, the last of which was a teacher's aide. She retired from the Stockton school system. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Coleene Rinker and husband Tony of Stockton: a son-in-law, Donnie Mick of Stockton;seven grandchildren, Rick Broyles and wife Donna of Stockton, Vicky Doeden and husband Kirby of Stockton, Danny Broyles of Springfield, Lori Eye and husband Dennis of Rockville, Danella Jemes and husband John of Springfield, Gina Smith and husband Kevin of Stockton, and Sharla Wilkerson and husband Chris of Lamar; 20 great-granchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Elsie O'Neal; her husband of 54 years; a daughter, Shirley JoAnn; and a great-grandson, Scott. Services were at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Stockton Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Randy Hayward officiating. Burial was in Lindley Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Sheldon Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs.
