She was born in Presque Isle, Maine, Sept. 1, 1927, daughter of Frederick and Glenna (Hartley) Holmes.
A resident of Keene since 1938, she graduated from Keene High School in 1944.
Mrs. Amer worked for more than 30 years at Peerless Insurance Co. in Keene, and for many years was a supervisor in the data processing department.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Keene.
Mrs. Amer was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 799 in Keene.
She enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Monadnock Squares. She also enjoyed playing bingo.
A brother, Earlon D. Holmes, and two sisters, Norma Shaw and Avis Rousseau, all died earlier.
A graveside service will be held . at Mountain View Cemetery, Route 32, Swanzey Center.
