Eliza Jane Rich was the daughter of Daniel Rich and Anna Barbara Clapp Rich. She was born in what is now Alamance County. She was the second wife of William Anthony and was the mother of five children: Henry, who died as a child, Emily, Daniel, Sarah and John.

TWO AGED SISTERS DIE THE SAME DAY
Mrs. Eliza Jane Anthony died Monday morning at 2:15 o'clock, March 28, 1921, at the home of her son, John Anthony. She was born Oct. 8, 1830, near Bellemont, Alamance county. In 1850 was married to William Anthony, who died in 1866, leaving her with four children.

In 1898 John moved to the old home to care for his mother, and since that time she has been with him. Two sons, Daniel Anthony and John Anthony, and one daughter, Mrs. Sallie Sharpe, survive the deceased, while twenty-nine grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren mourn the loss of grandmother.

She was a member of the Reformed church, Burlington, N. C.

Funeral services were held at the home of John Anthony, conducted by John M. Permar, pastor of Friends church at Graham, and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Graham.
