A devoted wife, mother and grandmother Mrs. Dora Bell Wright, 84, of Pound, entered into rest Saturday (Jan. 9, 2010) from the Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, Tenn.
Mrs. Wright was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was of the Baptist faith. Dora was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Billie C. Wright, a daughter, Diana Carol Davis; her parents, James and Maxie (Hill) Calhoun; sisters, Sue Calhoun and Jean Calhoun; and brothers, Billy Calhoun and Joe Calhoun
Survivors include her son, Troy Wright and wife Teleca of Pound; three grandchildren, Tabitha Davis Kain of Wise, Bill Davis of Norton and Randall Davis of Wise; a sister, Sidney Napier of Indiana; brothers, Woodrow Calhoun of Pound, Doug Calhoun of London, Ky. and Ronnie Calhoun of Tennessee; several nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends and loved ones to mourn her passing and cherish her memory. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, in the Sadie Baker Memorial Chapel with Rev. Randy Carter officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 pm until time of services at Baker Funeral Home.
Entombment services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers and are asked to meet at Baker Funeral Home by 10 a.m. to prepare to go in procession to the cemetery.
