Larry M. Hensley, age 65, of Edwards, Missouri passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Good Sheppard Care Center in Versailles, Missouri. He was born on August 22, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Louise Brandenburg and Mearl Hensley. He grew up in Raytown and graduated from Raytown High School in 1965. He joined the United States Marine Corp and served from 1965 until 1975. He served two tours in Vietnam. He then was employed for General Motors working as an assembly line worker. He moved to Edwards in the late 1980's and made his home in the Mir-A-Mar Community there. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Raytown and loved the outdoors. Larry suffered a severe stroke early in his life, but he never let his physical ailments define his physical limitations and emotional outlook on life. He was a strong man that enjoyed life. He is preceded in death by his father, Mearl Hensley, an uncle, Earl Hensley, two aunts Lois Polston and Norma Huerd, a brother, Robert Lee Schrand, his stepfather George Schrand and a grandmother, Flora Hensley. He is survived his son, Sean Hensley, of North Kansas City, a daughter Kelly Hensley, of Raytown, his mother, Louise Schrand, of Edwards, three brothers; Bubby Schrand, of Soda Springs, Idaho, George Schrand, of Bolivar and Pete Schrand, of Edwards, two sisters, Cheryl Hill, of Edwards and Barbara Dennis, of Ft. Worth, Texas, eight grandchildren; Aleah, Alyssa, Jaejar, Nalaina, Keaton, Jacob, Jessica and Tiara, numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral Services for Larry M. Hensley will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 30, 2012 at the Reser Funeral Home, in Warsaw. Graveside Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Weston, Missouri. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
