He married 1912 Emily Zoller of Redwood, N.Y. They resided for some years at Dexter, where he was employed in the St Lawrence Paper Mill; later removing to Black River. She died there March 9, 1932, and is buried at Redwood. He died in Watertown Dec. 14, 1938, and is buried at Sackets Harbor. They had two children.
He was a talented man, loving to fish and hunt, but loving also to read and play on his many musical instruments-piano, cornet, accordion, clarinet, etc. The loss of a thumb by accident, in a paper mill, precluded a career as clarinetist-a career which held promise of considerable distinction.
