After graduating from Pomona College Claremont, California, in 1917, with BS in Entomology, he served in Ambulance Service U.S. Army Medical Corps, overseas during World War I. After the war, he had a career as a Orange County Department Commissioner and was also a member of the American Legend for 50 years. He died in retirement in Encinitas, California.
