ESTHER V. BASH , 89, of Peru, died Sun, March 9, 2008, at Barry Community Care Center in Barry, Illinois, following an 8 month illness. Graveside services were at 2 pm Mon., March 24, at Pittsfield West Cemetery. The Rev. John Ruzich will officiate. Arrangements are through the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru. Mrs. Bash was born Dec. 14, 1918 in Pike County to Wilson and Viola Irick Barley. She married Cecil "Bud" Bash Jan. 26, 1946 in Chicago. She was co-owner of Bash Home Improvement of Peru, and later worked at Westclox. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and was a past president of Illinois Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by 1 nephew, W. W. Scott of Frankfort; 1 niece, Mary Kay Bennett of Vandalia; 5 great-nieces; 1 great-great-niece and 1 great-great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband March 24, 1999; 3 sisters, Emma Scott, Leona Neuman and Darlene Arnett; and 1 brother, Loraine Barley.
