Fulton, KY. - August 7
Gus Franklin Alexander, Sr., 76 of Water Valley, died Aug 7th at 5:40 p.m at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.

Mr. Alexander, a farmer, was a member of Bayou de Chein Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he had been a songleader and Sunday school teacher for 40 years.

Survivors included his wife, Mrs. Ona Rogers Alexander and two sons; Gus Alexander, Jr. of Dixon, Tennessee and Duncan Alexander of Water Valley, Kentucky. Also surviving were four sisters; Mrs. Clara Anderson, Huntington, West Virginia, Mrs. Grace Shepard, Union City, Tennessee, Mrs. Amanda Luther and Mrs. Florence Rhodes, both of Wingo, Kentucky; and a grandaughter, Mrs. Ronnie Hutchinson, Sumter, South Carolina.

Hornbeak Funeral Home was in charge of arrangement where friends could call after 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday and until noon on Wednesday, at which time the body was transported to Bayou de Chein Church. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Reverend Martin Rudolph officiating. Burial took place at the Wingo Cemetery, Lebanon Street, Wingo, Kentucky.
