Betty F. Butterworth Bolen, 80 of Ury, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, September 10, 2009.
Born March 27, 1929, in Athens, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Viola Wirtz Butterworth.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. Bolen, son Jackie E. Bolen, Jr. and brothers J. E. Butterworth and Billy Butterworth.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters Delores Ann White and husband J.E. White of Midway, Sherry L. Duncan of Sophia and son-in-law, Roger Duncan of Sophia, Linda Gail Hylton and husband Roger of Midway; sons Roy Davis Bolen and wife Joyce of Mt. Hope, Bobby Bolen of Ury, WV; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; sister Phyllis Ann Mitchell and husband Andy of Beckley; brothers Leonard Lee Butterworth and wife Shirley of Sophia, and Roger Butterworth of Beckley.
Betty was the Owner and Operator of Bolens Grocery Store in Ury, WV for 25 years. She was of the Protestant Faith.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, September 14, 2009 at Williams Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Sophia with Pastor Denny Hughes of Crab Orchard officiating. Burial will follow at Hot Coal Cemetery.
Grandsons and son-in –law will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may gather with the family from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Sunday at Williams-Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Sophia.
