Marian Josephine McAngus

Marian Josephine McAngus, 90, passed away May 1, 2012 in Cedar Park, Texas. She was born August 19, 1921 in Denton, Texas to Annie and Ruben McGraw. She was raised in Denton until age 12 and the remainder of her childhood was spent at the Rebekah Children's Home in Corsicana, Texas. She later attended Texas Women's University in Denton. She married Raymond McAngus on May 5, 1942 in Austin, Texas. She worked at Texas State Bank for many years. She spent her retirement years as a volunteer at Seton Medical Center and enjoying her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was loved by all and never met a stranger. She will be missed by all who knew her and we will miss her sweet smile and the sparkle of her eyes. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, B. McGraw, a brother, Orbine McGraw and a son, Steve McAngus. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Rogers of Austin and Judy McElya and her husband, Bill, of Katy, Texas; her grandchildren, Lisa Lawrence and her husband, Lee, Kate McAngus, Chad Rogers, David McElya and his wife, Ally, Danny McElya and his wife, Kara, Rob McAngus and his wife, Jodie; 12 great-grandchildren. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from twelve o'clock until two o'clock in the afternoon, on Saturday, the 5th of May 2012, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. Funeral services will be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 5th of May, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow in Austin Memorial Park, Austin, Texas. In lieu of flowers and the customary remembrances, memorials may be sent to Alzheimer's Association , 3429 Executive Center Drive, Suite 100, Austin, Texas 78731 or the American Cancer Society , 2433 Ridgepoint Drive, Suite B, Austin, Texas, 78754 Condolences may be sent to www.cookwaldenfuneralhome. com.
