Mr. Thomas Eric McGrew, 72, of Greenville, MS, passed away November 21, 2012, at Delta Regional Medical Center. A graveside service to honor his life will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012, at New Cleveland Cemetery with Bro. Robert Haney officiating.
Mr. McGrew was born in Mississippi on October 22, 1940, to George and Ethel Modess McGrew. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and eventually retired from the Department of Veteran Affairs. He enjoyed watching wrestling and mystery shows and he dearly loved his grandchildren.
Mr. McGrew is preceded in death by his parents, George and Ethel McGrew; his first wife, Janie McGrew; sister, Patricia Oswalt; and brothers, Charles McGrew and Tommy McGrew.
He is survived by his step-daughter, Sharon Ferguson (Leon Caldwell) of Greenville, MS; grandchildren, Corey "Scoota" Harrison, Sha'leya "Weewee" Caldwell, and Leon "Lil Man" Caldwell all of Greenville; sisters, Linda Ingram (Gerald) of Rolling Fork, MS and Ethel M. Taylor (Leroy) of Mound, LA; brothers, Bobby McGrew (Marilyn) of Rolling Fork, MS and George McGrew (Margaret) of Marysville, CA; and Aunts, Dot Knox of Batesville, MS and Earlean Rybolt of Clarksdale, MS.
The Family would like the say a special thank you to all the wonderful people who cared for Mr. McGrew at Ability Independent Living, Christine Bean, Violet Walker, Felecia Johnson, Kelly Raney, Didi Smith and Betty Coleman.
