Robert H. Cunningham age 91, of Ludington, passed away on November 13, 2012. He was born July 28, 1921 in Millerton MI, son of the late Hugh and Clara (Giel) Cunningham.
He married Margie Murphy on October 28, 1946. The couple lived in East Detroit MI and Walhalla and before moving to Ludington in 2002. Bob was a Veteran of the Army and served in WWII, with tours in Africa, Italy, France and Germany. He also was in the CC Camp in Walhalla. Robert was a long-term employee of Macomb County as a foreman and retired in 1983. Prior to that, he was employed by Packard Motor Car Company until it went out of business in 1956. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of American Legion, Post #76.

Bob is survived by his wife Margie; children: Susan (Jerry) Roberts of Julian NC, David (Joy) Cunningham of Sault Ste. Marie MI, Barbara (Charles) Cliff of Johnstown PA; Dorothy Cunningham of Ludington, Daniel Cunningham of Roseville MI; grandchildren: Erik, Jennifer, Cristie, Michael, Matthew and Anne; and great-grandchildren: Adam and Kaelynn. He is also survived by a brother, Patrick (Judy) Cunningham of Comstock Park MI.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert II; 6 brothers: Richard, Donald, James, Raymond, Barney and Charles, along with a sister, Betty Kavaluskis.

Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Simon Church in Ludington on Saturday, November 17 with Father Wayne Wheeler, Celebrant. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, November 16 at Oak Grove Funeral Home from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM with the Scripture Service at 5:00 PM. There will be no visitation at the church on Saturday.

Burial will take place at Brookside Cemetery in Scottville.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Simon Food Pantry or Hospice of Michigan.
