Hazel M. Meyer, age 83, of Kiester died Wednesday, January 3 at her home in Kiester. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Kiester, with Reverend Richard Steffen officiating. Visitation was from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church on Saturday. Burial followed at Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery.
Hazel was born July 4, 1917 in Alden to Henry and Barbara (Hochreiter) Ahnemann. She married Melvin J. Meyer on February 17, 1938 in Walters. Hazel was a homemaker all her life. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, where she was involved in the sewing group, circle, and WELCA groups. Hazel was also a member of the Kiester Senior Citizens group. Hazel enjoyed traveling, sewing, gardening, flowers, and socializing with her friends and family.
She is survived by two sons; one daughter; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters; one brother; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Melvin, and one brother - Elmer Ahnemann.
