Mr. Peery was a native of Tennessee and spent 21 years In the Air Force before retiring in 1957. Since then he had been employed as a millwright. He was a member of the Santee Baptist Church and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Erma Smith Peery of Rt. 1, Collins; a son, James S. Peery of Rt. 1, Collins; a daughter, Mrs. David (Linda) McNease of Vicksburg; three brothers, Lester Peery of Gleason, Tenn., John B. Peery of Dresden, Tenn. and Fred Peery of Linwood, Calif, three sisters, Mrs. Bertie Mae Underwood, Mrs. Zula Cantrell, and Mrs. Tillman (Elva) Wright, all of Dresden, Tenn.
