Son of Jason ADAMS (1812–1880) and Lucy Parmelia Spencer ADAMS (1828–1920).

Married Elizabeth Lizzie Paynter ADAMS on 06 Sep 1881. They had the following children:
Sadie E. ADAMS (1885–)
John J. ADAMS (1890–)

C. Peyton Adams was born in the town of Farmersville in 1853. He left the home farm when 28 years old, and went to Bradford, Penna., during the oil excitement, and he spent four years drilling oil wells. He worked on the test oil well on the Button lot in this village.

Later he returned to York State and for seven years made cheese at Randolph and Kennedy. Mr. Adams has lived in this village for twenty-one years, the first two of which he ran the express delivery which he bought of Burdell R. Van Hoesen and sold to Frank E. Hall. He then entered the employ of his brother, Eugene M. Adams, in the feed, coal and lumber business and continued with him as long as he was in business.

In 1910 in partnership with Henry G. Frees, he leased the then vacant Veneer factory, put in a floor and started a roller skating rink, which was successfully conducted for one year.

In 1911 Mr. Adams and Mr. Frees, together with James A. Napier, organized the Franklinville Amusement Company, incorporated under the laws of the State of New York, and erected the Casino on Church street, near Elm, which includes farmers sheds, roller skating rink, bowling alleys, etc., and is one of the best known and most widely patronized local institutions. Mr. Adams is senior member of the firm in years, and also in time connected with the business, as his first partners have both sold to newcomers.

Mr. Adams is a member of the Baptist Church, the K. O. T. M., and an exempt Union Hose Company fireman.
