Chad Wayne Risetter, 19, died Saturday morning, March 26, 1988 in an automobile accident near Randall.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 29 at 1:30 p.m. at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell.

Friends may call at Becker Funeral Home in Jewell until the time of service.

Chad Wayne Risetter was born Sept. 21, 1968, at Story City to Wayne and Jean Hemmen Risetter. He was a lifetime South Hamilton area resident and was a freshman at the University of Iowa.

He was a 1987 South Hamilton High School graduate. While in high school, he was active in student council, a class officer, pep band, football (where he was captain of the team), wrestling (where he was captain of the team), golf, track, an all-state band contestant, a two-time outstanding soloist and Homecoming king.

At the University of Iowa, he was a member of the Iowa Hawkeye marching band and the Iowa concert band.

He is survived by his parents of Ellsworth; one brother, T.J., at home; one sister, Marti, at the University of Iowa; grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Risetter of Jewell and Virginia Hemmen of Webster City; and great-grandmother Hannah Sexe of Jewell.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Jodi, and grandfather Ray Hemmen.

He was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell.
