Mrs. Lena E. Sessler, 72, died at 3:30 a.m. today at the Wilton Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
A lifelong resident of the Wilton community, she was born Oct. 27, 1887, in Cedar county, a daughter of Peter and Eliza Jipp Grunder. She married John W. Sessler on Nov. 16, 1905, in Cedar county. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran church, Wilton, and belonged to the Ladies Society of that church.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Arthur of Durant, Alfred and Robert of Wilton; a daughter, Mrs. Wilmer Theis, Atkins; a brother, Herman Grunder, Wilton; three sisters, Mrs. Rose Malsenbach, Mrs. Lydia Bilkey and Mrs. Marie Bender, all of Muscatine; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by four sons, one sister, parents and one grandchild.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sessler will be held at 2 p.m. (cst) Saturday, April 30, at Zion Lutheran church. Rev. John B. Nieman officiating. The body will be taken to the church at 10:30 a.m. (cst) Saturday prior to services. Burial will be at Oakdale cemetery.
Friends may call at Griffith Funeral Home, Wilton, after 1 p.m. (cst) Friday.
